Acls San Antonio

While you may have been an EMT at either the basic or intermediate level for some time in San Antonio, ACLS is the next step in your training if you want to move up into that paramedic slot that is supposed to be opening up. Although you may have been responsible for a lot while you have been an EMT it pales by comparison when you take on the role of the Paramedic. As a Paramedic you suddenly become the person in charge on the scene and every aspect of their care is ultimately your responsibility from every aspect of patient care to the paperwork, even the final mode of transportation is up to you. If you think this still sounds like what you want to dedicate your life to, then in you need to become ACLS certified so that you can take the paramedic certification test in San Antonio.

ACLS and paramedic certification will make you legally responsible for every medical intervention that is performed on the patient as long as you are present. In many cases a trauma center could be many miles away and you are going to have to make some fast decisions that could hold your patients life in sway. San Antonio ACLS certified paramedics will learn how to go far beyond the ABCs that are taught to EMTs and be prepared to use intubation to maintain airways. You will also learn how to use a defibrillator to help regulate a patient's heart beat or "shock" them back to life if their heart should stop. This is different than the standard AED in that you are in control of the voltage and current used. You will also be taught how to read an ECG to help you diagnose the patient's heart rhythm and make the decision whether or not the use of the defibrillator is warranted.

Along with mechanical devices like the defibrillator the San Antonio ACLS certified paramedic will be taught which medications he should choose for certain situations as well as how and when to administer them. To facilitate the introduction of certain medications you will learn to start an IV and then use a shunt to administer the proper dosage of several different medications. This is something that you would never have been allowed to do as an EMT. While you are in training in San Antonio to be ACLS certified you will also be taught several surgical interventions such as starting a central line or placing a chest tube in your patient to release pressure inside the chest cavity enabling your patient to breath more easily on his own. If you are ready for these challenges you can take your classes at Master Train where they have helped train over 5,000 medical professionals every year for the past ten years. They teach a variety of medical skills from BLS to ACLS and PALS to make sure they are ready for any emergency situation no matter what it is in a non threatening environment.
